\nMany newly planted trees are placed on loose soil. During the first months after planting, this soil can settle and the entire root ball may sink.

\nDuring extreme heat and drought, valuable urban trees can quickly begin to lose vitality.

Surface watering is often not enough. Water applied around the trunk may evaporate, run off compacted soil or remain close to the surface. The ground may appear wet while the deeper active roots remain dry.\n<\/div>
